The first leg of our 11 day adventure began on Friday morning at 4am. Violet, Stella and I drove to Portsmouth, took the bus to Boston, and caught the train to Washington D.C. where my sister picked us up. The girls made a small friend named Facelyn by playing peek-a-boo over the back of the seat until he laughed at them. Eventually they moved right into his seat and played him with origami and pictures they had created for him. By dinner time we were all settled in at Karen's house just in time for more excitement...
