Growing up

I bought this gorgeous piece of furniture today at the thrift store. I
asked how much it was and when Janet, the super nice lady who is the
manager, told me the price, I hesitated. I said "Well it would be so
sweet in Violet's room, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much."
to which Janet replied "Well for Violet how about half that?" Can you
imagine? Janet has known Violet since she was about a year old. There
are several really lovely people I have met at thrift stores, who
remember me and know my kids names. And it reminds me that community
is where you find it.

Ah, it was Second Generation in Greenland. I have a fantastic kid size roll top desk that came from there too. They don't always have stuff like that, but often enough.
