Easy Blog Photo
Sunny is a baby rabbit who lives under my aunt's deck. We call him Sunny because his favorite spot is where can lie in the sunshine and dart under the deck to safety if he needs to. I tried putting some lettuce out for him, but he wasn't interested; apparently he's more interested in eating clover and grass. We can almost always watch him lying around or eating, which is pretty cool. Do you have any animals living near or under your house?

When I got to my aunt's house, I saw that my cousin had a Flutterbye Fairy. A Flutterbye Fairy is a motor powered girl with spinning wings attached to her hips and waist, which propell her into the air. If the fairy senses something a foot below her, she flies upward. If she doesn't, she flies down slowly. To make her fly, you just have to press a button on a stand she comes on. I wanted to play with that fairy, even though it got awful reviews. It worked, and Mom and I predicted that those reviews are from people who have a small or crowded room, or a little kid not treating the toy properly. It works, and all I have to say is that this toy is for ages six and up. I had a really fun time with it, so I definitely suggest it. After a few silly tries, I managed to make it fly. The video is from when I was still getting the hang of using it, which is pretty goofy. After a while I could get it to work easily.

Portraits

I'm so behind. Here are a few pictures I have been meaning to post.

I can't believe my kids are this old already. Violet - such a self-possessed little imp. And Stella - such an independent and gregarious little imp.

Oh, and the helmet? 8 days it stayed on. Eight days.

Birthday partying

Violet had her first bowling experience this weekend. She was invited to her friend Ashton's birthday party at Vacationland Bowling. I had prepared her for the noisiness of the bowling alley, but even I wasn't prepared for the blacklights, the disco ball or the flashing lanes. Bowling certainly isn't like when I was a kid.

Fourth birthday parties, however, are much the same. Though it seems not one of these kids knew how to play duck-duck-goose. The mother patiently tried to explain it, but in the end they just did what they wanted. Violet was not the only one who would get up randomly, run around the circle and sit back down in her seat.

Glow in the dark necklaces make a very good game, too. Violet keeps up pretty well with the boys. The one in back is Caleb, the one in front is Aman; both of them are in her preschool class. She can just as likely be found holding hands with one of them as swinging at them.

But when asked what her favorite part of the party was she replied "the horse ride". This would be the 50 cent horse ride I let her take after the party because she had been begging to ride the whole time we were there.

We talked about going back there with Jason and Stella to try out the quiet bowling area, which seemed really nice. And as a bonus, you don't have to remember back to 9th grade phys ed to do the scoring. The nice computer man behind the pins does it for you while he's setting the pins back up.
